Although humans in the world of Atoria vary depending on their culture, their racial norms are that of an industrious people who occasionally regress due to poor leadership and greed. One could say that unlike the other civilized humanoid races, humans have a strange dichotomy to them and wax and wane like the moon.
Humans average life spans of about 50 years, though some venerable members of the race live as long as 90 or more years.
Culture
Subtle differences in human culture vary with each major country. However in Atoria most establishments are either chaotic neutral (rural areas) to lawful neutral (major cities). The major cultures are broken into three different groups. The Graemorian, a group of people from the chain of large islands called the Graemoors. These people are similar to the Caucasian Europe most campaigns are based off of. In these lands however, people built their cities upon the ruins of multiple ancient empires (like the Atlantean and Acheronian) that have since long died out. Then there are the Anubian races found in the lands of Alkrash and Maeveena. These people resemble the Caucasian and Black Persian and Egyptian empires of old. These nations are also built upon a select few ancient empires, namely the globe-spanning Acheronian. And lastly there are the Hanyu races that live in the far eastern lands of Kaiming, Zhanqu, and Hokkaido. These people resemble the ancient Chinese and Japanese people and nations of old, whom also built upon ancient nations like Baelmoor and Acheron.
